Join us at Barclays as a VP in our growing Investment Banking Client Strategy and Analytics team. This team blends corporate finance expertise with data science innovation to transform how global clients make strategic decisions. Our team is a multi-disciplinary, cross-sector investment banking team. We are building the future focussed advisory practice applying data science, AI/ML and advance analytics to deliver differentiated insights and scalable solution for our global corporate and sponsor clients.

As a Vice President you will take the lead alongside senior bankers to originate and execute high impact transactions across coverage and product (M&A, ECM, DCM and treasury product), create next-generation, differentiated content  and tools and shape client strategy by discovering growth opportunities, trends, and insights that matter that can provide compelling client narratives. Your experience will provide key expertise to the team as they seek to combine strong coding, investment banking, corporate finance, time management and communication skills in building future-focussed high demand skills which combines direct client work and the development of quantitative analytical products.

To be successful as a Vice President, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Econometrics, or related quantitative fields
  • Demonstrated initial ability to build scalable analytics using Python, SQL and web APIs.
  • Previous demonstrated experience in applying data science to investment banking: corporate finance and strategic decision-making in a comparable role
  • Ability to organize and analyse complex financial data, build valuation models, and create impactful client materials.
  • Proficiency in Excel/ PowerPoint to create client materials for M&A, Capital Markets and treasury product transactions

Other skills of value include:

  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications
  • Experience in applied quantitative roles in markets, buyside or consulting
  • Experience in corporate finance advisory or strategy roles
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Tablaeu, Power BI etc.)
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment

The role is based in our London office.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies  

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.   .
  • Generation of ideas and identification of opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business opportunities.  .
  • In-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.  .
  • Collaboration with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements.  .
  • Collaboration with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.  .
  • Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability by engaging with clients on their climate, transition strategies and sustainable finance opportunities where applicable.  .
  • To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.  .

Vice President Expectations
