The Portfolio Credit Analytics & Strategy team is at the forefront of shaping Barclays’ unsecured lending strategies through rigorous data analysis and actionable insights. Working closely with senior leaders across Product, Finance, and Risk, the team drives strategic recommendations on Product, Affordability, and Securitization, with a strong focus on analytical quantification. As an in-business function, the team primarily supports the analytical agenda for unsecured lending products, including, but not limited to, Pricing and Limit strategies, ensuring robust decision-making at every turn.

To be successful in this role as a “Decision Analyst" in Barclays UK, you should possess the following skillsets:

  • Really strong data skills using SAS, SQL & Python.
  • A decision analyst must possess strong analytical and quantitative skills to evaluate data, identify patterns and trends, and generate insights that support effective business decision-making.
  • Attention to detail is critical for a decision analyst to ensure data accuracy, validate assumptions, and identify inconsistencies that could impact the quality of analyses or recommendations.
  • Hands-on experience in developing predictive statistical models, forecasting techniques, machine learning & Risk-Reward models, demonstrating your proficiency in applying advanced analytics to real business challenges.
  • Solid proven experience in making strategic recommendations through analytics in Unsecured lending (Cards/Loans/Overdrafts), Banking, Retail, eCommerce or pharmaceutical domains.
  • Decision analysts must demonstrate critical and strategic thinking, enabling them to solve complex business problems, assess trade-offs, evaluate risks, and develop data-driven solutions that optimize outcomes.

  • Effective articulation and story-telling ability, enabling you to communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and compelling manner to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial understanding of unsecured lending products, risk and affordability policy, and the key drivers of revenue, risk, and cost, equipping you to provide strategic recommendations that balance growth and risk mitigation.

This role is based in our Noida, Candor Techspace office.

Purpose of the role

To extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, developing robust decision models, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders across the departments. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and extraction of relevant data from various internal and external sources.
  • Performing sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of existing models.
  • Development and implementation of data quality control procedures.
  • Building and validation of quantitative models to support decision-making across different business areas.
