- To manage a business function, providing significant input to function wide strategic initiatives. Contribute to and influence policy and procedures for the function and plan, manage and consult on multiple complex and critical strategic projects, which may be business wide..

- Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of own function, offering significant input to function wide strategic initiatives.
- Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
- Escalates breaches of policies / procedure appropriately.
- Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed that relevant processes in place to facilitate adherence.
- Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives.
- Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives.
- Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations.
- Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
- Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
- Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions.
- Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.

Purpose of the role:
The Director will lead the India-based MI, Reporting & Data Analytics hub for Operational Risk & Risk Oversight (ORRO), overseeing the delivery, transformation, and strategic uplift of operational risk reporting across the Group. This role acts as the central point of leadership for global MI production, regulatory and internal reporting, data visualisation, analytics, automation, and BCBS239-aligned data governance. The Director ensures ORRO has accurate, timely and insightful operational risk information to meet regulatory expectations, support effective oversight, and inform senior decision-making. They will lead multi-disciplinary teams, partner closely with global stakeholders across Risk, Technology and the business, and drive major technology-enabled change across the end‑to‑end reporting landscape. Ultimately, the role requires a senior leader who can blend technical depth, operational excellence, and strategic vision to build a modern, scalable reporting and analytics capability for ORRO globally.
Key Responsibilities (High Level)
- Lead global MI, reporting and analytics delivery, ensuring high‑quality, timely internal, external and regulatory operational risk reporting.
- Oversee reporting transformation, driving automation, self‑service reporting, advanced analytics and technology uplift across ORRO.
- Strengthen data governance and BCBS239 compliance, ensuring robust data quality, controls, lineage and reporting standards.
- Develop and scale analytics capabilities, including predictive analysis, data visualisation, risk insights and AI‑enabled use cases.
- Manage and develop the India-based Centre of Excellence, leading multi-skilled teams across MI production, analytics and reporting change.
- Collaborate with senior global stakeholders across Risk, Technology, and business areas to shape and deliver the strategic reporting and data agenda.
- Represent ORRO in governance and regulatory forums, articulating reporting processes, insights, escalations and data integrity.
- Lead transformation initiatives and major change programmes, modernising the reporting ecosystem and strengthening ORRO’s data and technology foundation.
Key Skills & Capabilities Required
- Deep expertise in operational risk MI, regulatory reporting, analytics and data governance.
- Strong leadership and people management, able to lead large teams across multiple disciplines.
- Advanced understanding of automation, data platforms, BI tools and analytics technologies.
- Proven ability to design and execute reporting and data transformation strategies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing at senior levels and partnering across complex global environments.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
- Familiarity with BCBS239, Group Data Management Standards and regulatory expectations.
