Join Barclays as a Finance Data Analyst AVP, where you’ll have the chance to design, validate, and deliver Management Information (MI) reports and analytics that support US Consumer Banking Finance. This role partners with CFO teams, Financial Control, Risk, and Technology to provide accurate, timely, and actionable insights for executive decision-making. You will lead MI reporting processes, ensure data integrity across multiple systems, and maintain compliance with regulatory and operational standards. Additionally, you will drive automation and process optimization initiatives, support transformation projects, and communicate complex financial information clearly to senior stakeholders.

To be successful as a Finance Data Analyst AVP, you should have:

  • Experience in Finance MI reporting or development within banking or credit card/financial services, with understanding of finance data architecture, governance, and tools.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and reporting technologies, including Python, SAS, SQL, Essbase, Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and VBA; familiarity with Oracle and AWS is a plus.

  • Ability to collaborate across business, finance, and technology teams, gathering requirements and delivering solutions for new product launches and acquisitions (e.g., Project Concord), while documenting business and functional requirements for reporting initiatives.

  • Governance and control mindset, with experience maintaining process documentation, reconciliation, validation procedures, and compliance for MI reporting; skilled in tracking progress and managing change logs using JIRA.

  • Communication and presentation skills, capable of creating clear, concise, and visually engaging presentations for senior management, and proactively resolving issues in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Degree in finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field, or progressive experience in Finance, MIS, or similar roles.

  • Advanced proficiency in MI reporting and analytics tools, including Tableau, Power BI, Python, SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Essbase, Excel, and VBA, with strong understanding of banking data architecture and financial analysis.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to deliver clear insights, manage complex reporting requirements, and collaborate across business and technology teams.

Salary for Whippany, NJ:

Minimum Salary: $100,000
Maximum Salary: $150,000

Purpose of the role

To develop business capabilities for Finance through key stages of functional design, data, end-to-end-process and controls, delivery, and functional testing. 

Accountabilities

  • Functional Design: leveraging best practice concepts, and in collaboration with Line SMEs, support options analysis and recommendations as part of decision making.
  • Data Analysis/Modelling/Governance: design conceptual data model underpinning all phases of the processes, and governance requirements in accordance with GDMS standards and principles.
  • End-to-End Process & Controls - development of target process and controls design/documentation and operational runbooks and aligning these components with organisational and role/service model design definitions.   .
  • Delivery/Implementation Support: update design/functional requirements throughout the development cycle, and resolve RAIDS related to functional requirements and business processes. Project management for change programmes that have limited technology investment.
  • Functional Testing: develop scripts and data to test alignment to requirement definitions, ahead of user testing cycles.
