Explore locationAs a Data and Technology lead VP at Barclays, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models, as well as effective governance frameworks, to support the use of Generative AI (Gen AI) across various business areas. You will use Gen AI tools to look at large bodies of unstructured data to generate insights and optimise processes, in addition to managing, maintaining, and enhancing the Gen AI prompt Library. Other role responsibilities include, championing user adoption and working collaboratively with Learning and Development and Legal Technologist teams to deliver appropriate training.
To be successful as a Data and Technology lead VP, you should have:
Experience managing and maintaining data for use in Gen AI including managing prompt library
Metadata Management – the ability to identify and manage critical data elements (CDEs), including ownership, source systems, descriptions, and business relevance
Taxonomy & Folder Structure Design: Developing consistent, clearly defined taxonomies and folder structures to support both human and machine searchability
Data Structuring for AI: Ensuring documents are machine-readable (e.g., native OCR, indexed content), and that unstructured data is organized for AI-driven insights and agentic automation.
Experience in data governance, and regulatory and requirements and industry standards
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Integration with AI & Automation: Familiarity with integrating document management systems (DMS) with AI tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot, iManage, cloud-based solutions) for advanced search, summarization, and workflow automation
Experience in data architecture design
Experience in developing new approaches to knowledge management and the management of ‘data as an asset’

This role is based in Birmingham.
